Hi, I’m Kris. Thanks for visiting my blog! I’m new to blogging, so please bear with me while I learn the ropes. I have a wife and son and work fulltime. I’ve been a homeowner since 2006 and became a father in 2009. My wife and I have climbed our way out of debt twice- after college, and again after a lay-off. We were forced to learn the hard way how to manage our money. We are now earning more and spending less. Now, I would like an opportunity to share with you the things I’ve learned about being smarter with money.
About this blog
I used to only pay attention to my finances when it was in bad shape. I’d be comfortable, but as soon as one unforeseen expense came up I began stressing about how my family was going to make it until the next paycheck. After taking steps a few years ago to be smarter with how I spend and save money, my family now has plenty of breathing room when something unexpected happens. With this blog, I intend to teach you how to be smarter with how you use and save your money so you won’t have to learn the hard way. This blog will also serve as a way to keep myself honest- what would I look like if I don’t practice what I preach. I hope this blog will also be a benefit to first-time homeowners. There were a lot of things I didn’t know about homeownership when I first bought a home, but now I can share with you some tips to help you be a better first-time homeowner.
I look forward to teaching you what I know. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you may have as I try to grow this site. Please feel free to leave any feedback in the comments or email me.
